This 88,000 sf headquarters/ distribution center was designed for The Hammer Company prior to the merger with Glazer’s. The project relocated Hammer from its historic Midtown Cleveland location where the operation could no longer function and grow efficiently.

To achieve Hammer’s goal to “be the vineyard” to its grocery, retail and restaurant customers, a Tasting Room was created with Hammer’s relocated stone fireplace. Vintage wine barrels contain Hammer’s own bottled port. The office environment is a setting for staged receptions, tastings and informative seminars to educate clients and stimulate sales.

The exterior is designed - on a strict budget - in a Gothic vocabulary to align with Hammer’s ‘old world European’ image.
“The Hammer Company presented design challenges for Bill and his firm. We are a family owned and operated wine wholesaler and distributor operating in the Cleveland market for four generations. Bill and the firm were tasked with designing an office space that had the needs of modern functionality while incorporating historic fixtures my family has acquired over the years. Examples - leaded stain glass windows, cornerstones, headstones, 2000-year old Roman amphora, and an archive wine collection. The results are a remarkable example of their skills.”
