Located two blocks from the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the owner of the Galleria and Tower at Erieview engaged us to design a 150-room hotel and the northwest corner of the property. The plaza area affected was an entry to the Galleria Food Court atop an underground parking garage for the complex. As a result, the garage structural bay spacing drove the structural spacing for the hotel design.
A 10-story solution resulted with glass balconies for lake views to the west. Room layouts were particularly sensitive for business and family travelers to incorporate flexibility for work/ internet use and a roll-out bed for a child.
An undulating canopy design provides welcome animation to the crisp geometry of the poured concrete frame expressed.
