John Christensen joined us in 2004 after 23 years of practice in corporate workplace and high tech lab and switchgear facilities. A registered architect with a B. S. Arch. from the Ohio State University, John brings a well-rounded base of experiences with major responsibilities on complex projects to each new assignment. John began his career after college with a small general practice firm where he worked in all phases of planning, design and contract documents on commercial, retail, industrial, medical office and residential projects.
Since 1991, John’s practice has been focused on workplace and telecommunications facilities. He has been responsible for numerous workplace projects involving as many as 500 people, so John’s programming, space planning, design and project management skills are well developed. John recently completed the Greater Cleveland Partnership and Positively Cleveland office project involving the renovation of the first two floors of the historic Higbee department store building on Public Square. This former department store lacked any electrical or HVAC infrastructure and as a result, the complex project entailed coordination of a base building renovation involving new systems, exterior windows, canopy repairs, rest rooms, a new elevator and historic tax credit limitations. John saw the project through to completion - with no change orders.
John brings a focused and calm demeanor to each project, as well as a quiet but excellent sense of humor. John leads project teams and is a key contributor during the contract documentation and contract administration phases of work to assure that the design intent is realized and quality standards are successfully attained. John is extremely flexible and cooperative and is easy to get along with. John and his wife live in Westlake.
