This vacation getaway residence for this single parent and two daughters is intended to be a retirement location for the owner. The one-acre location is a magical site with a 50’ drop from the road to the water and 70’-90’ trees. The parcel also has 330’ of frontage on a cove and Findley lake as well as a small island that buffers the cove from the lake.
The design separates the road from the site with ‘closed’ bedroom elements from ‘open’ common areas facing the lake. A two-story living room is the hearth space with full-height curtainwall exposure to bring the outside in.
The low-maintenance design calls for a white polymer resin exterior which requires no painting and can be power-washed. The residence is at the south end of Findley lake, two minutes from the Peak-n-Peak ski resort. The three-bedroom residence provides accommodations for eight to ten occupants.
