When Dave Walter BMW/Range Rover hired local architects to take the provided Range Rover standards and create a design and contract documents that would be approved by Range Rover. He requested and received a lump sum contract.
The scope of work was never changed by the dealer.
When the project was completed, the architects came back and demanded a significant increase in their compensation without compelling justification. The dealership declined since they nor Range Rover had changed the work scope. The architects sued the dealership. We analyzed the documents and evaluated the assertions of the architects. It was our opinion that any efforts required to correct the architects’ contract documents were a result of poorly supervised and inexperienced staff. The dealership prevailed in the suit.
